Dhodha – The Taste of Strength, Tradition, and Legacy Since 1912
More than a sweet — it’s a legacy in every bite.
Born in the heart of Khushab in 1912, Dhodha was created by Lala Hans Raj Vig, a renowned wrestler and passionate cook, who sought a powerful yet wholesome source of nourishment. He combined the essence of his strength with his love for traditional Indian ingredients to develop a recipe that was rich in energy, texture, and taste — giving birth to what is today known as Dhodha.
Timeless Craftsmanship
For over 112 years, Dhodha has been more than a sweet — it's been a symbol of resilience, purity, and flavor. Passed down through generations, the original recipe remains untouched. Each batch is lovingly prepared with pure buffalo milk, hand-churned desi ghee, caramelized khoa, and an abundance of premium dry fruits — including almonds, cashews, and pistachios.
The magic lies in the slow-cooking technique. The ingredients are slow-roasted over a low flame for hours, allowing the flavors to mature and blend into a dense, fudgy, and nutritious delicacy that’s bursting with rich taste and a soft, chewy texture.
A Sweet With a Story
Once served to bodybuilders and athletes as an energy-rich meal, Dhodha traveled through time and partition — from pre-Independence Punjab (now in Pakistan) to Kotkapura in India. Even after a century, the sweet holds on to its authentic flavor and heritage, preserving the same method, ingredients, and soul.
Whether it was your great-grandfather who relished it on festive mornings, or your own childhood memories of breaking pieces off a golden tin — Dhodha connects generations through taste.
